Billing Platform Migration
As we have continued to grow, we are outgrowing our current billing platform with Zoho, and moving to Splynx which is very exciting for us and can scale easily with our continued growth.
The exciting part:
This new platform comes with many new features for us, including a new ticketing system, internet health, and a myISP mobile app that allows you to see and pay your bill, submit and view tickets, track referrals, update payment information, and more. We are also actively working to integrate some new features into such as the ability for you to change your Wi-Fi password from within the app, see your usage (not that we throttle, it’s just a cool statistic for the curious nerds), be notified of service interruptions, run speed tests, and more.
This platform is built from the ground up for internet service providers like us throughout all our growth stages, which will help us continue to be efficient, personable, provide reliable service, and streamline our internal operations.
Your current pricing and service will remain the same. We are committed to serving you excellent service at a reasonable price. We are also committed to your privacy. We do not track how you use the internet, nor do we sell your data, that’s a liability. We also simply don’t want to know what you use the internet for. Just don’t do anything illegal. We are not here to nickel and dime you like the big guys. One simple price for internet, it’s a utility – ‘nuff said.
Emails from us should be a little bit more reliable. Some of our monthly invoice emails get flagged as spam due to how the old platform sends your invoice emails. This should work better on the new platform.
The less exciting part:
We will need to migrate your current account over to the new system. The migration itself should not interrupt your internet service with us, but we do need to get your card or bank information again to continue billing your account and prevent an interruption to your service. We will have some added leniency during the month of August to account for this. However, if we have not received updated payment information from you by September 1st, your internet service will be suspended.
We are consolidating our payment dates to the 1st of the month. What does this mean for you?
If you are currently billed on the 1st of the month, you will continue to be billed on the first and your August 1st payment will not come out automatically as it will be in the new system. We will need to process your payment manually for the month of August as it will become past due.
If you are billed based on the day you were installed (any other day that is not the first of the month), we will be pro-rating your service for the month of August to account for the change in billing dates. This means you will likely have a bill slightly smaller or larger than usual on September 1st to account for additional or reduced days on your bill for the transition. Your normal bill amount will resume October 1st.
We made this change for a couple of reasons, one being that the new platform is made to work with a specific billing date of the month, but another being that we are a utility service. Your rent and other utility bills likely come out on the first of the month, so we are aligning ourselves with this. It also drastically simplifies our accounting legwork. If this poses a significant issue or hardship for you, let’s chat and see if we can come up with something that works for both of us.
We want to thank each and every one of you for our continued growth. Seriously, we couldn’t have done it without you. We don’t bombard you with promotion emails or anything else because we believe if we provide good service, we shouldn’t need to market to you after you sign up with us. Almost all our new customers come from word of mouth. However, we do have to still shill a little occasionally.
Speaking of, if you didn’t know already, we do have a referral program in place where we will give you one free month of service for every new account that activates with us from your referral – no max number of referrals. For example, if you get 20 people to sign up for service and activate with us, you will get 20 free months of service. We aren’t going to cap that, why would we punish you for that?
As part of an additional thank you, from August 1st until the end of the year, we will ALSO be giving a free month of service to the referred party that signs up with your referral. You and your friend both get a month of service for free. We provide service to apartments, condos, and small-midsize businesses. If you get us into a new apartment complex, we may have to become buddies.
